Meet Freya Rose an Indie Folk-Pop artist who creates heartfelt, deeply personal music, which she describes as “music for the sad girls.”

The 24-year-old is originally from Bedworth and is now based in Rushden, she has been an independent artist for over 3 years and has embraced the pros and cons that come with this.

“You get to be authentic and genuine to yourself, without having everyone telling you what you should and shouldn't be doing, but I do absolutely everything,” Freya shared.

She independently creates her own music videos, poster designs, event plans and social media, which can financially be difficult.

Freya stands out through her unique sound a signature pink aesthetic which she once rejected, but now fully embraces.

“Freya Rose feels like a separate character where I can explore the really girly side to me and wear a lot of pink and frills,” she said.

One of her proudest accomplishments is winning Album of the year at the Northamptonshire Local Music Awards last year, as well as having people sing her songs back to her.

Freya has big plans for her future in music and with her dedication and undeniable talent, there’s no doubt that she is on her way.

You can read more about Freya and her music in April's magazine issue.
