Sony’s long-anticipated Beatles biopic is officially moving forward, and it’s unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Announced by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, the ambitious project will unfold across four interconnected films, each told from the unique perspective of one of the Fab Four.

All four films are scheduled for release in April 2028, marking a cinematic event that aims to redefine the biopic genre.
“Each one is told from the particular perspective of just one of the guys,” Mendes shared during the event. “They intersect in different ways — sometimes overlapping, sometimes not.
They're four very different human beings. Perhaps this is a chance to understand them a little more deeply. But together, all four films will tell the story of the greatest band in history.”

The cast bringing the Beatles to life are:
Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney
Harris Dickinson as John Lennon
Joseph Quinn as George Harrison
Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr
While there have been several films inspired by the band — including Backbeat, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, and Nowhere Boy — this marks the first time all four members and their estates have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted feature.
